Rose
Photography and Story by Felix Uribe
Every day, Rose wakes up steps outside and hears some of the worst things you could imagine someone being told.
Rose Woodvine is originally from Boston Massachusetts. She grew up in a very strict religious home with her brother and sister. Her family immediately disowned her when she came out to her parents as gay. Rose never told her parents she was trans. She left the house, years passed, and she found out her father committed suicide and her mother died from being ill. She can remember as young as 13 where she started realizing she was different. She's been homeless 5 times in 5 different states and has lived all over the country including a residency as a showgirl in Las Vegas.

Rose now resides in the Tenderloin, where she spends most of her time volunteering at the community center City Hope, she calls it a second home.
